A review of the literature published in the Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports serves as a very useful guide to the benefits of being more active as we get older.
According to these authors, “physically active older adults benefit from reduced risks of early death, breast and prostate cancer, fractures, recurrent falls, functional limitations, cognitive decline, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and depression” as well as “healthier ageing trajectories, better quality of life, and improved cognitive functioning.”
Did they leave anything out?
Nothing that matters, I think.
Do just do it.
