Another study statin-haters need to consider

Yet another study showing a potential benefit in some types of cancer from taking statin drugs, which are primarily prescribed if course for high LDL levels.

A large Australian study of female cancer patients who had been taking statins before their diagnosis of cancer concluded that they had a lower risk of eventually dying from breast cancer, colon cancer, or melanoma, compared to those not taking statins.

That doesn’t mean, of course, that you start taking a statin to prevent one of those cancers.

It does mean, however, that if you are on a statin, this is one extra reason to stick with it.
