Just pick the right mother.
According to data from the famous Framingham Heart Study which was included in a study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, “offspring of mothers with heart healthy lifestyles live nearly a decade longer without cardiovascular disease than those whose mothers have unhealthy lifestyles.”
Or put another way, in these people, mama’s poor cardiovascular health was linked with twice the risk of early onset cardiovascular disease in her kids compared with ideal maternal cardiovascular health.
And what about the dads?
Don’t count nearly as much.
According to this report, “fathers’ heart health did not have a statistically significant effect” on how long their kids ended up having to deal with cardiovascular disease.
