A disturbing study about Covid-19 in kids

According to a study published today in the journal, Blood Advances, researchers found” elevated levels of a biomarker related to blood vessel damage in children with SARS-CoV-2 infection, even if the children had minimal or no symptoms.”

In other words, even in kids who were not deemed to be sick (although all the 50 kids in this study, even the ones not deemed to be sick, were in hospital, so someone was worried about them), there were changes in their blood tests that are linked to damage to their blood vessels.

What does this mean in the real world?

Very hard to tell – it may mean nothing at all, it may mean that anyone infected with SARSCo-V2 (not just kids) is looking at a real potential problem down the line.
