If you can remember this in 4 weeks, your cognition is good

A just-released very small (46 person) study from the University of Bristol published in Alzheimer’s Research and Therapy claims that how you remember things after a four week hiatus is a better indicator of how well your memory is functioning than is the usual 1/2-hour delay test such as your retention for person, man, woman, camera, tv test over that 30-minute stretch.

In this study, the researchers conclude that in the 15 of 46 participants in whom memory declined over the following year, “four-week verbal memory tests predicted cognitive decline in these healthy older people better than the clinical gold standard memory tests”, like person, man, woman, etc.

So here’s your test: In one month, what did I just tell you?
