According to multiple reports, the B.C. government ordered a review last summer of the pandemic’s deadly effect on care homes but never made the report public.
According to Health Ministry spokesman Stephen May, the report was “a minor report designed to assist ministry staff in addressing issues”.
With over a hundred care home deaths and thousands of infections in care homes at the time this report was apparently commissioned, a look into what was happening – and more importantly, why – is considered to be a “minor” report?
One other curious thing to wonder about: Was this “minor” report – or key parts of it – available prior to last fall’s provincial election?
