Why you should always wear a mask

According to a review of 61 studies and reports comprising more than 1.8 million people that was just published in Annals of Internal Medicine concluded, as many other studies have done, that “at least 1 in 3 people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus do not have any symptoms.”

That’s lucky for them, of course, although it’s still not clear whether these people would be at higher risk of re-infection with a variant of the current strain or whether they are also at risk of eventual long-term problems from the original COVID infection.

But it’s not good news at all for the rest of us because clearly there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of infected people walking around out there without any idea that they are carrying something that might be deadly to the next person they share a space with.
