Researchers at Oxford University released new results this week from their vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca showing that a single dose of the vaccine was 76 percent effective against symptomatic COVID-19 for up to three months following that dose.
Now these are preliminary results, as everyone and their aunt keep pointing out.
Still, these results sure beat what the researchers might otherwise have reported.
And in an era when we are focusing so much negative attention on COVID-19 – variant, variant, variant, variant – it’s important to remember that good things are still happening during this pandemic, such as the incredible miracle of effective and potentially virus-limiting vaccines that have been manufactured virtually out of the blue within 12 months (actually, sooner but why quibble?) of having named this virus.
