Follow the money to find out why we don’t have any vaccine production in Canada

Procurement Minister Anita Anand told the House of Commons industry committee on last Thursday that her department “proactively and repeatedly approached leading vaccine manufacturers” about the prospect of making their vaccine doses in Canada, and all refused.

As the old joke has it, however, everyone and everything is for sale so all you do when you want something badly enough is haggle about the price, which begs the question of exactly how much Canada was willing to pony up to get these vaccines produced in this country.

Clearly, not enough.
