The good news is, as the Canadian Press reports, Canada’s chief medical adviser says her department is will be ready to quickly authorize needed boosters when they’re available.
The potential bad news is that Health Canada is a government agency that does not seem to know the definition of the word “quick”.
HC has, for example, still not approved the J&J one-dose vaccine that was approved last week in the US.
Could it be that the Americans approved a vaccine that Canadian health mavens think is not fit for Canadians?
Somehow, I find that hard to believe.
So, pardon my cynicism, but I think that when it comes time to OK boosters for COVID-19, I have a feeling that we will once again be lagging behind others in getting the vaccines that we need out to Canadians.
