Another study that moderation may be good for you

And for once, no buts to end this item.

According to a new study presented at the American College of Cardiology’s 70th Annual Scientific Session has shown that moderate alcohol intake – no more than one alcoholic drink for women and two for men per day – was associated with a lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease when compared with individuals who abstained from drinking alcohol, and especially compared to those who indulged in excessive drinking.

But that’s not really news cuz so many other studies have shown the same result.

What is news in this study is that based on a group of patients who underwent brain imaging, these researchers concluded that “drinking moderate amounts of alcohol may be heart protective, in part, by reducing stress-related brain signals”.

But anyone who enjoys their glass of two of Chateau Rotgut at the end of every day to help them get over the stresses of that day could have told these guys that hey, you don’t really need to do the brain imaging stuff cuz “Take my word for it, yes, alcohol does helps lower my stress levels and allows me to forgive those who trespassed against me that day”.

And for once, there’s no but to moderate that idea.
