There’ve been several reports about some major – and largely unexpected – benefits from this pandemic, such as for example, a huge drop in admissions to hospital with cases of severe asthma.
Now there’s a new one to add to that gradually-growing list.
So given how successful the COVID vaccines have been, a significant number of people who don’t generally get vaccinated with an annual flu shot seem to have re-thought their reluctance and now claim that they will indeed get a flu shot next year.
This seems to be particularly true for seniors, who are, of course, much more likely to suffer severe consequences from a flu infection than younger people would be.
I just hope, though, that when the worries about this pandemic wane – and they should before much longer – many of these people will go back to neglecting this very important preventive measure.
