Stand up if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, or abnormal cholesterol levels

Not because I want to know who you are, cuz even with poor privacy on the internet, I still can’t see you anyway.

But stand if you have one of those three above-listed conditions because the more you sit , the worse it is for you compared to your neighbour who has none of those problems.

That’s according to a terrific Japanese study that “aimed to determine the association between sedentary time and mortality” (in other words, how much does your sitting time increase your risk of dying early) in both normal people and those with “cardiometabolic diseases such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, and diabetes mellitus.”

Conclusion was pretty direct: If you have any of those conditions, sitting is way worse for you than it is for someone who is disease-free.

And although this study involved only Japanese, I’m sure it’s as true for the rest of us as it is for them.

Always comes back to the same-old, same-old: The single best thing you can do for yourself is to sit less, move more.
