No better way to point out the immense need for COVID-19 full vaccination ASAP

An Associated Press analysis of May data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that  unvaccinated people now account for nearly all (99 %) COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths in the United States, which builds on similar findings from Israel and the UK.

Now that data was collected in May, that is, before the Delta variant had spread widely, so the big question now is: Will this still be true when the Delta variant is the main source of infection, which is right now, of course, since there is a lot of speculation out there that the vaccines currently in use may not protect as well against the Delta variant as they did against the other strains of this coronavirus.

So, the great news – but only if you’ve been fully vaccinated – is that based on some pretty up-to-date although preliminary data, the current vaccines seem to protect very well against the Delta variant, meaning that it’s likely, at least until (and if) a much more infectious variant comes along, the over-whelming majority of people who get infected – and of course, an even larger majority of people who get hospitalized or who die from the infection – will be those who are not vaccinated.

Get both your shots ASAP – for yourself, your friends, your family, and for the community.
