Interesting thought about why vaccinated people don’t get as sick with a breakthrough infection

Reuters reports a small study from India of SARS-CoV-2-infected individuals (205 adults with confirmed COVID-19, more than half under age 50, some fully vaccinated, some partially vaccinated, some not vaccinated) in which doctors did CT scans on all, and they concluded that the fully vaccinated had no evidence of lung involvement, the partially vaccinated had some lung involvement, and the non-vaccinated had lots of lung inflammation.

The conclusion was that vaccination may protect the lungs from severe infection with SARS-CoV-2, which may turn out to be one of the most important ways that vaccines protect us in this pandemic.
