The world we live in

A study just published in the New England Journal of Medicine claims that there’s a good chance to find a universal coronavirus vaccine, that is, a vaccine that would act against all possible iterations of coronaviruses, meaning, of course, that we maybe wouldn’t ever again have to go through the trauma of the last couple of years.

Great news, of course.

But this is just me and what I immediately thought of after seeing that study is that given the world we live in, it’s very likely that someone somewhere in some unnamed country in some obscure lab is working on how to subvert that vaccine.

Hope I’m wrong but I sincerely doubt it.
