Another myth bites the dust

So everyone knows that the more you run, the greater your risk of eventually ending up with degenerative arthritis (aka osteoarthritis or OA) in the knees or hips.

But as happens so often these days, when subjected to a rigorous review, what everyone knows may not be right.

So, in a review that included 5,065 participants from 6 different studies and which was just published in the journal, Arthritis & Rheumatology, researchers claim that they “did not find any link between the amount and duration of physical activity with individuals’ risk of developing knee osteoarthritis.”

Still, if you run a lot and your knees or hips seem to be deteriorating, just makes sense to run less.
